BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Over a thousand people in Baton Rouge braved the freezing temperatures on Thanksgiving morning to run for a great cause.
The annual Turkey Trot 5K benefits the March of Dimes.
This year, about 1,400 runners gathered at Convention Street and 4th Street in downtown Baton Rouge for the 8 a.m. run.
Participants are hoping the nationwide event breaks a Guinness World Record.
The early start gave them plenty of time to finish before turkey and trimmings were served at home.
