BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - NBA star and Former LSU Tiger Tyrus Thomas was 'serving it up' in his neighborhood. The Baton Rouge native was giving 20 turkey dinners to families in need.
The Tyrus Thomas Foundation partnered with Chick Shack because the cut of SNAP benefits have many families scrambling for ways to put together Thanksgiving dinner.
Thomas says this time of the year, we should be thinking about others instead of ourselves.
"You grow up learning that this is the time to give and share. So, I am just trying to do my part," said Thomas.
A recent LSU Ag Center survey shows Thanksgiving dinner will cost families 95 more this year.
