SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Two men are in jail following an early morning fight in downtown Shreveport.

Shreveport Police officers received a tip from a concerned citizen around 1:40 a.m. Saturday morning about a fight going on in the 400 block of Clyde Fant Parkway.

When officers arrived on the scene, several suspects fled the scene on foot trying to get away from authorities, police spokesman Bill Goodin said.

Officers reportedly heard gunshots moments later.

Two people were arrested for their roles in the incident.  Joe E. Martin, 21, and Timothy Brown, Jr., 19, were both charged.

Martin, of the 2200 block of C. E. Galloway, is charged with one count of resisting an officer.  Brown, of the 1300 block of Wilkinson Street, is charged with one count of illegal carrying of a weapon.  Both were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.

A weapon was seized during the course of the investigation.  Detectives are working to identify other possible suspects in the case.
