BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office continues their investigation into the homicide of Lindsay Ellixson, whose body was found in Claycut Bayou on Saturday, November 16.
Claycut Bayou is near Tiger Bend Road in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Lindsay Ellixson, 21, of Livingston Parish was found in the canal around 3 p.m. Saturday.
EBRSO Maritime and other first responders were able to retrieve Ellixson from the canal. It was later determined by the EBR Coroner that she died of blunt force trauma to the head, neck and body. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
In a statement released by EBRSO Friday evening, "The circumstances surrounding her death were unusually brutal and violent. Specific details related to her death will not be released at this time, due to the ongoing investigation and out of respect for her family."
EBRSO also noted that currently, there are no other homicides that are known or suspected to be similar or related to this homicide.
The investigation is ongoing.
