Lafayette PD: Armed robbers tie up, lock victims in closet

LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - Three armed men are wanted for breaking into a home, tying up the residents and locking them in a closet. Police say the suspects stole jewelry and electronics before leaving the apartment.

The incident happened on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at roughly 7:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Verot School Road. Officials say the victims suffering minor injuries.

"According to the victims, three suspects forced their way into the apartment," Cpl. Paul Mouton, Lafayette Police Department, said. "The suspects struck the victims, placed tape over their mouths and tied their hands together. The victims were then forced into a closet."

The suspects described their attackers as black males, who were all wearing dark clothing and had their faces concealed.
