BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The State's newest Congressman was sworn in Thursday. Republican Vance McAllister took the oath of office, officially filing the seat vacated by Representative Rodney Alexander.
McAllister, a newcomer, will represent the 5th Congressional District.
You'll recall, Alexander resigned to become Governor Bobby Jindal's Secretary of Veterans' Affairs.
McAllister won an unexpected landslide victory over Republican State Senator Neil Riser after grabbing an endorsement from the bearded men of the popular Duck Dynasty reality show on A&E.
