11-year-old escapes attempted aggravated kidnapping

BATON ROUGE, LA (AP/WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Police are searching for a man wanted for an attempted aggravated kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl.

It happened Tuesday just before 6 p.m. in the 2600 block of Terrace Street.

Police say the girl was walking home after visiting a friend on a nearby street when a white, 4-door vehicle with black trim passed her numerous times and then parked in front of a house on Terrace Street.

The man got out of the vehicle and tried to grab the girl, but she ran away screaming for help. She was able to escape and ran home for help.

The suspect is described as a black male, with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark jeans and black shoes.
