CENTRAL, LA (WAFB) -

Central residents have a new place to grab a bite to eat, and it's a familiar name for people in Baton Rouge.

Mike Anderson's Seafood officially opened its doors today at the new Greenwell Springs location.

The new location offers the same menu as the one on Lee Dr., but managers say the location gives it a different atmosphere.

Community leaders say the long wait was worth it.

"Mike Anderson's is a well known restaurant and we believe they're going to pull other business, other people in from around the surrounding area to come eat at this restaurant and off of that probably get some other things that spring up around it to help support it so we're real excited," said Ron Erickson with the Central Chamber of Commerce.

Erickson says the Central Thruway and the widening of Sullivan Road are also going to help bring new business to the Central community.
