BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Over the years here at WAFB, we've told countless stories of determination. We hope they've inspired you. One of those such stories recently was that of Henry Allen. At just 16 years old, he's already a national champ in boxing. Henry has been training since he was just four years old and then by age of eight, he'd already claimed the National Junior Glove belt.
He now has 15 belts and has the perfect trainer - his dad - who won a silver medal in the 1988 Olympic trials. Young Henry Allen also has Olympic dreams and he's well on his way to getting there.
But what also impressed us about this young man from East Feliciana High is his 3.8 grade point average and his dream to one day start his own engineering company. An accomplished athlete, a great student and a young man with a bright future ahead. It's exactly the type of story we like to tell.
