BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man charged with murder in the death of his 11-month-old daughter pleaded not guilty when he went before a judge Tuesday morning for his arraignment hearing.

Larry LeFlore, 26, of Baton Rouge, went before Judge Richard D. Anderson and pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to juveniles.

A motions hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 8, 2014.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said little Aaliyah Heard was taken to Baton Rouge General Mid-City by EMS on June 21. She was later transferred to BRG Bluebonnet and died there the next day.

Prior to the infant moving from one hospital to another, the police report shows officers found "multiple bruises on face, suspected cigarette burns to extremities, and a large burn to the upper right thigh."

It stated the baby suffered a broken right clavicle, bleeding on the brain and more.

The official cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Ashley Heard, 28, the child's mother, was also arrested. She is charged with cruelty to a juvenile.
