BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - An empty house that is up for sale caught fire Monday morning.
The St. George Fire Department said it happened in the 9500 block of Crandon Drive just before 8 a.m.
Fire crews said they arrived on the scene to find the ceiling of a side porch near the carport on fire.
Officials said firefighters kept the flames contained to the attic and exterior wall, but the living area sustained slight damage.
SGFD said it only took about 25 minutes to get the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department assisted with putting out the fire.
