A man and his grandfather were arrested on rape charges involving underage girls Tuesday following a nearly month-long investigation.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said Cory Adams, 22, and Rodney Adams, 67, both of Bayou Vista, are both charged with aggravated rape. The two men live together.

Deputies said they received a report from personnel at an area hospital on October 5 of the possible rape of two juveniles and began investigating.

According to detectives, the younger Adams is accused of raping an 11-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl. His grandfather is also suspected of raping the 11-year-old.

SMPSO said they were arrested at their home after arrest warrants were issued. They were booked into the parish jail.

Bond has not been set.
