BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - There was a major backup at the courthouse in downtown Baton Rouge Tuesday morning.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said a long line formed because a judge is expecting 500 jurors.
Apparently, the chief judge instructed that all 500 jurors and anyone else headed into court be searched thoroughly and that's what caused the backup.
"Like what is the judge going to say when you get in there? 'Oh you're late,' said one person. "That ain't my problem. You can't even get the people in here on time."
"I just came out just to come and smoke and I don't think I'm going to be able to get back in," said another person. "That is bad."
Obviously, there was some frustration by those stuck waiting.
