BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - We were relieved to hear Mayor Kip Holden say his comments during a recent trip were not meant to insult video game company Electronic Arts. Holden was part of a Louisiana group that made the trek to Orlando to learn more about how central Florida is growing its region.

During a presentation at EA, which is headquartered there, Holden seemingly questioned the company's dedication to its new LSU testing facility. The state says in actuality, EA has exceeded its promise, creating nearly $6.8 million in payroll for their Baton Rouge employees, $1 million more than its obligation.

Companies like EA are essential to the growth of Baton Rouge. We hope going forward the mayor does a little more research before jumping to any conclusions, especially when it involves companies investing in our region.
