TUSCALOOSA, AL (WAFF) -

A man told police he was shot after being taunted for being a Tide fan following Alabama's win over LSU.

Tuscaloosa Police responded to a shooting at the Shell station at Skyland Boulevard and Greensboro Avenue on Sunday around 2:30 a.m.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, had been shot in both legs. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim told officers he stopped at the store to use the restroom when two men approached him and taunted him about being an Alabama fan. A fight started and one of the subjects pulled out a gun.

The victim got his gun from his car, and the other man with the gun shot at him, hitting him in the leg. The victim returned fire.

The shooter and the other man left the scene in a small black vehicle. Police do not believe anyone else was injured.

The case is still under investigation.
