BERWICK, LA (WAFB) - Detectives have arrested three more suspects in the death of a man found along a Louisiana highway.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office have released the names of the three additional people arrested in the shooting death of Willie Francis, 23, of Berwick.
Deputies reported finding Francis's abandoned car along LA 90 in the Bayou Vista area on October 29 around 11:30 p.m. The engine was still running.
Berwick police were contacted around 10:30 a.m. the next day that a body had been discovered along LA 182.
The St. Mary Parish coroner later positively identified it as Francis.
Detectives determined through interviews and evidence gathered at the crime scene that 22-year-old Kirkland Craft of Morgan City, LA and a 15-year-old juvenile attacked Willie Francis on Highway 182 in Berwick, LA stabbing the victim to death.
Detectives also say Priscilla Francis, 41, of Bayou Vista, LA and Autumn Alfred, 24, of Bayou Vista, LA both had knowledge of the crime.
The motive behind the homicide remains under investigation. Evidence gathered at the location is being analyzed at the Acadiana Crime Lab.
Kirkland Craft was arrested at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Morgan City for second degree murder.
Priscilla Francis was arrested at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin on a warrant for accessory to second degree murder.
Autumn Alfred was arrested at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Morgan City on a warrant for accessory to second degree murder.
A 15-year-old girl was arrested Tuesday evening in connection Francis's death. Her name was not released.
The arrests are the result of a joint investigation by SMPSO and the Berwick Police Department.
