Man arrested for domestic abuse twice in two months

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man was arrested for the second time in just over 2 months. In both cases he was charged with domestic abuse and bond was set at $2,500 for each case.

According to the report filed by the Baton Rouge Police Department, the latest incident happened on Monday, Nov. 4 at roughly 10:00 p.m. The victim claims Charles Johnson, 32, "punched her in the face" and yanked the "wig off her head."

"[Johnson] then exited the vehicle and began walking off," notes the report. "The victim then stated that the defendant was going to re enter the vehicle when he punched the vehicle's passenger window, breaking it."

Police observed that the glass of the vehicle had been broken and the victim had visible scratch marks. However, Johnson claims that he never touched the victim.

Johnson was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Battery. His prior conviction for the same charge was issued on August 29, 2013. In both cases he was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

In addition, Johnson has five prior arrests for Simple Battery that date back to 2006. He has addition prior charges for Stalking and Theft from a 2011 arrest.
