OLOL moves patients into new cardiovascular tower

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - After two years, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital's new wing is up and running.

Staff began moving patients from their rooms into the new Heart & Vascular Institute Wednesday morning.

The big move started around 6 a.m. The plan was to move one patient every 90 seconds.

The new nine-story cardiovascular tower was designed by some of the hospital's doctors in hopes of having more space and a more comfortable experience for patients and their families.

The tower will feature 141 patient beds, five operating rooms and four cath labs.
