Livingston Burn Ban Still in Place Despite Recent Rain

LIVINGSTON, La. (AP) - Officials say Monday's scattered showers in Livingston Parish has done little to lessen the danger of continued grass fires.

The parish's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is urging residents to obey a burn ban and to be careful when they throw lighted cigarette butts onto the ground.

Officials say they'll lift the order once it rains enough to remove the threat of fire.
