TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -

Ammunition, weapons and drugs were seized and undocumented immigrants apprehended over the past two weeks by Tucson Sector Border patrol agents.

This week, agents conducted two consecutive days of vehicle narcotic seizures at the Highway 80 checkpoint. In one incident, they seized a recreational vehicle with more than 500 pounds of marijuana hidden in multiple compartments.

The following day they came across a van containing multiple bricks of marijuana in excess of 60 pounds hidden inside a false roof compartment.

The occupants were processed for prosecution and/or removal proceedings.

Last week, Border Patrol agents stopped a vehicle near Stanfield. They discovered it was transporting five long-arm weapons, ammunition, marijuana and a stolen Border Patrol uniform. Agents arrested the driver and seized the vehicle, contraband and weapons.

At the Interstate 19 checkpoint, agents arrested two U.S. citizens attempting to smuggle two Mexican nationals in the trunk of a vehicle.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection urged citizens to report suspicious activity. They can call the Border Patrol at 1-877-872-7435 toll free. All calls will be answered and remain anonymous.
