Police officer attacked at restaurant, 3 teens arrested

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Baton Rouge police officer was treated at the hospital and three teens were taken into custody after the officer was attacked at a restaurant Saturday night.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the incident happened shortly before 11:00 p.m. while the officer was working an extra-duty detail at the Chili's on Constitution Avenue.

Rineisha D. Smith, Dequincy D. Mccray and Rodney D. Lee, all 17 and from Baton Rouge, were arrested.

The police officer suffered minor injuries in the attack.

"He was later treated at a medical facility that required stitches on his chin," said Cpl. Don Coppola with the Baton Rouge Police Department.

The teens are charged with second-degree battery, disturbing the peace and resisting an officer.

They were all booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
