"We are deeply saddened by the events of last night. Our hearts are heavy and our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim. It is a shame that the actions of one individual can affect the lives of thousands of people at one time. The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair has a basic emergency plan in place, which was activated and worked in conjunction with the Deputy Sheriff's on site, to get the people out of the grounds and off site. These plans are always under review to see what improvements can be made and we will be doing that review in the immediate future… We are committed to bringing quality family oriented entertainment to the Baton Rouge area and will not let the actions of one individual change that commitment. The 2014 Fair has been scheduled for Oct. 23 to Nov. 2 for some time and will happen."
