BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Dozens of friends and family said their last goodbyes to a local car guy. Who has not only touched a lot of cars but a lot of hearts.
Today, Les Tassin had his last show he has battling cancer for 14 years and time can only tell how long he has to live. So what better way to honor his life than to include all the folks that have been rolling with him. It all happened in the parking lot of Miracle Place church of Greenwell Springs Rd. Several of his friends showed off their nice rides from corvettes, to chevrolets, to even the oldest cars around.
"He is having a great time seeing his friends, this is what he wanted. He wanted a celebration of life. Just to say his goodbyes and hear some good stories he hasn't heard in a few years," said Chase Tassin his grandson.
Chase has taken a couple of lessons from his grandfather about what's under the hood. But out of those many lessons, there's one in particular that sticks out the most.
"It is love, love will definitely be his legacy, he inspired a lot of us to just show as much passion as you can as long as you can," said Tassin.
