JEFFERSONTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Police are investigating three home burglaries that occurred within three weeks in Jeffersontown. In one case, a woman's family heirloom was stolen along with jewelry, electronics and collectibles.

Officers have not determined whether the break-ins, which occurred near Stony Brook Drive and Watterson Trail, are related.

"We came home and our entire house was ransacked," said Amanda Rhoads. "Our flat screen TV was gone. Drawers were emptied all over the place."

It's what's gone from her bedroom that hurts the most. Camouflaged within the missing stolen silver and gold is a ring almost always on her right hand.

"I'm absolutely devastated that it's gone," Rhoads said.

Burglars stole a family heirloom - a ring Rhoads inherited from her grandmother.

"It was custom designed by my grandfather for her that she wore for 20 to 30 years. He passed away," said Rhoads. "It's a vintage ring. It's white gold. It has about a half-carat stone in the center. There's some open detail on the top where you can see through the ring to your finger."

Rhoads is hoping someone will recognize the piece and turn it over to police.

"It means the world to me," said Rhoads. "It's not replaceable."
