Deputies search for wig-wearing bank robber

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Detectives are looking for a man who handed a note to a bank teller claiming he had a gun and demanding money.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said the bank robbery happened at the Regions Bank in the 8700 block of Siegen Lane around 11 a.m.

Deputies said the suspect walked in the bank and gave the note to the teller. They added the teller did not see a weapon. The bank robber then left with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen headed toward Siegen and Perkins Road.

He is described as a black man with a dark complexion. He is believed to be 30 to 35 years old. He is about 5' 9" and weighs between 180 and 200 pounds.

Witnesses told investigators he had on a long black wig. He was wearing a navy blue hat, white thermal-type shirt with a navy blue shirt over it, dark-colored pants and gray gloves.
