ST. HELENA PARISH, LA (WAFB) - One day after receiving an F under new accountability rankings, St. Helena School officials kick start a plan to improve their reputation.
"On behalf of the students, teachers, and administrators in this great school district, we are moving forward. We are moving upward. We will be the best and it's always a great day to be a Hawk," said Superintendent of St. Helena Parish Kelli Joseph.
An official ground breaking signals the beginning of many upgrades for St. Helena Central High School, which you may remember burned down in 2008.
The district is hoping a brand new 12-classroom facility, athletic stadium, cafeteria and media center will help improve student achievement.
