Suspect wanted for grabbing cash from registers

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Detectives are looking for a man that stole cash from convenience store and a fast food restaurant cash registers.

Police say around 2:15 a.m. Monday, the suspect walked into the Circle K in the 4500 block of Plank Rd. and approached the counter.  When the clerk opened the register, he grabbed cash out of the drawer and fled in a white Chevy Impala.

The second robbery happened Tuesday around 11:30 a.m.  Detectives believe the same man pretended to look at the menu of the Jack in the Box in the 2800 block of Scenic Hwy., waited for the employee to open the cash drawer, then grabbed money ran.  He was last seen running west on Chippewa St.

The suspect is about 5'10", 150-160 lbs., with a thin build.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
