GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

A surprise at a crime scene for Ascension Parish Sheriff's Deputies resulted in four victims of a home invasion arrested, one on the run and another recovering from gunshot wounds.

Just before 2 a.m. Thursday, Ascension Parish Deputies were called to the hospital about a man who had been shot multiple times. The man has been identified as 34-year-old Brent "Smoke" York of Gonzales, LA.

During the investigation, deputies learned that four more people were at York's home when three men and a woman entered the home and demanded money.

According to APSO, the male suspects identified themselves as police; two were armed with handguns and one had a shotgun. One of the suspects was wearing a joker's mask. The suspects began shooting and York was hit multiple times.

Deputies searched York's residence and found a large quantity of drugs, including 5.5 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, xanax and ecstasy.

York's injuries are not life threatening and he will face criminal charges once he is released from the hospital.

Investigators learned that Krystal Cedotal, Cody Brown, Sasha Desormeaux, and Nathan Braud were all at York's house during the home invasion. Deputies say Cheryl Morris, an acquaintance of York's, went to his house immediately after the shooting and cleaned the blood from the home, which altered the crime scene, according to APSO.
