Louisiana teen accused threatening mass violence at NC school

ST. CHARLES PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

A Louisiana teen is behind bars in connection with threats of mass violence made to a high school in North Carolina.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office said the boy from St. Rose was arrested Tuesday. According to WWL-TV, he is 14 years old. The threat was made Sunday evening.

Sheriff Greg Champagne said the suspect made the threats in an online chat room to shoot students at Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, NC and even named particular students in the threat.

Champagne added during questioning, the teen admitted he made the threats. The boy reportedly made the threats to see the reaction of the students in the chat room.

He was booked into the Assumption Juvenile Detention Center with terrorizing. His bond was set at $100,000.
