Police search for man who robbed bank on Plank Rd

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police are searching north Baton Rouge for a bank robber. The Baton Rouge Police Department said the robbery happened at the Regions Bank located on Plank Road at Denham Street.

The bank was robbed around 10:40 a.m.

Investigators said the suspect walked in with a gun and walked up to the security guard on duty. The man verbally demanded her weapon. He then went to the front teller and insisted on cash from the teller.

Once the man had the cash in hand, he ran away.

The suspect is identified as a black male, dark complexion, in his mid 20's to early 30's. He is between 5'10" and 6' tall. He is described as having a stocky build and he possibly has a goatee. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a green polo style shirt, blue jeans and a light colored baseball cap.

    A man accused of an attempted armed robbery Thursday night was shot in the process and died early Friday morning, according to investigators. The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Kylin Spencer, 19, died at the hospital from gunshot wounds.
