BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Crime is down 13 percent in Baton Rouge over the first half of 2013.
Baton Rouge Police say violent crime is down almost 25 percent between the first six months of 2013 and the same period in 2012. Crimes against property are down 10.5 percent.
"Obviously we're encouraged by the numbers, we feel like many of the programs we've been putting in place are starting to pay off," said Chief Carl Dabadie Jr. "But we know there's still much work to do and we will continue to partner with the community to do everything possible to see these numbers keep dropping."
The statistics are sent to the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Program.
