TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Steven King's trial has been pushed back to November at the request of King's attorney. King is currently facing charges of obstruction of justice in connection to the disappearance of 1-year-old Elaina Steinfurth earlier this year.

King's attorney asked for a continuance because the investigation is ongoing. He said in court on Monday that he spoke with prosecutors last week, and he has reason to believe the case will be resolved in the next 3-4 weeks with an indictment.

Elaina Steinfurth was reported missing on June 2. Her remains were found inside a garage that belonged to the King family on Sept. 5.

King is the ex-boyfriend of Elaina's mother, Angela Steinfurth. Angela is also charged with obstruction of justice related to the case. Both King and Angela are being held on bond at the Lucas County Jail. No one has been charged with Elaina's death at this time.

"I would love to be a fly on the wall in either of their jail cells, just to hear what they are saying, and what they know," said Terry Steinfurth, Elaina's grandfather. "I think the only way we're going to find it out is in the courtroom."

Elaina's family says now that they have laid their baby girl to rest, their main focus is to get justice for her.

"It's been a long, drawn-out session of trying to find the answers," Terry said. "Now hopefully, with what we've heard today, our answers are going to start coming."

The judge said she believes the trial could have started Monday, but agreed to push the date back.

King's attorney said Monday in court the new trial date will be consistent with the investigation. Another pretrial date has been set for Oct. 29, and the trial will begin Nov. 4.
