St. John the Baptist Parish continues prep for TS Karen

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH (WAFB) - Officials of St. John the Baptist Parish have worked  in preparation of Tropical Storm Karen, keeping residents updated on evacuations, road closures, outages, and other procedures.

According to SBJ Parish Communications Director Paige Falgoust, starting Saturday afternoon through Sunday, the parish may be hit with winds of about 25-35 miles per hour. The storm surge for Lake Pontchartrain is expected to reach up to 3 feet from rainfall of 2 to 4 inches. Heavy rainfall and wind is also expected along the West Bank, including Pleasure Bend. Tornados have not been ruled out but are not expected to occur.
