BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police have charged a suspect in a bank robbery that happened in June.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said a Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of Matthew Smith, 20, on Thursday.
He is accused of robbing the Fidelity Savings Bank on Corporate Boulevard on June 4.
According to police, Smith walked into the bank and used a note to demand money from the teller.
Smith has been charged with simple robbery.
Investigators added Smith was already in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on an unrelated charge.
