BAKER, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge Police officer was arrested Wednesday on domestic abuse charges.
According to reports, Sgt. Wroten Brumfield choked and slapped the victim before hitting her with a board.
Investigators say at one point, Brumfield told the victim that "you must want me to treat you like I treat the people on the street."
Brumfield is an 18 year veteran of the Baton Rouge Police Department. He was off duty at the time of the incident.
He has been placed on administrative leave pending and investigation. He has been charged with felony domestic abuse battery.
