FRANKLIN, LA (WAFB) - Detectives have made an arrest in the murder investigation of a man found dead in a roadway early Monday morning.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said Jazmine Jackson, 23, of Franklin, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning. He was arrested on a warrant for first-degree murder just before 2 a.m.

Investigators reported they have identified the victim but are not releasing it until the family has a chance to confirm the identity.

Deputies said they received a 911 call a little before 2:30 a.m. about a man lying in the road along LA 182 in the Sorrel area. He had been shot. The coroner later pronounced the man dead.
