In the event of a Government shutdown, La. Federal Judiciary will remain open

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - According to the United States District Court, Middle District of Louisiana, in the event of a government shutdown on October 1, 2013, the Federal Judiciary will remain open for business for the next 10 business days.

On or before October 15, 2013, the Judiciary will reassess the status of it's operating budget and provider further guidance. All proceedings and deadlines remain in effect as scheduled, unless otherwise advised.

Everyone who received a jury summons must report to Federal Court as directed. Case Management/Electronic Case Files (MC/ECF) will remain open in operation for the electronic filing of documents with the court.
