Man sentenced for weapons convictions

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man was sentenced Thursday to seven years in prison after being convicted on weapons charges.

Adrian K. Thompson, 35, was convicted of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Investigators say Thompson was arrested after firing an AK-47 during an argument over drugs.  Two bullets from the assault rifle hit a nearby occupied home.

Officers seized an AK-47, marijuana, cocaine and illegal prescription drugs when they search Thompson's home after the shooting.
