Crime Stoppers tip starts drug investigation that results in 5 arrests

Detectives said a Crime Stoppers tip led to an investigation that resulted in several drug arrests this week.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said the following suspects were arrested:

Christopher Washburn, 27, of St. Amant

Bonnie Hebert, 51, St. Amant

Dayne Poirrie, 22, of Gonzales

Kimberly Roddy, 27, of Prairieville

Dayla Sappington, 26, of St. Amant

Narcotics detectives reported the tipster claimed Washburn was selling drugs in the St. Amant area and had several outstanding arrest warrants. They said they began an investigation into the accusations and learned Washburn was living with Hebert in St. Amant.

According to investigators, Hebert was found at a neighbor's house and she confirmed Washburn was at her home. Deputies said when they searched the home they found Washburn hiding in a closet and Sappington was also inside the house. They added a meth lab, nearly five grams of meth, Xanax pills, cocaine, synthetic marijuana, crack pipes and scales were also discovered in the home.

Detectives said while they were still searching the home for evidence, a car with Poirrie and Roddy inside pulled into the driveway. They reported Poirrier had heroin and Sudafed on him. They added the pair admitted they were bringing Sudafed to Washburn to cook meth.

Washburn was booked on the following charges:

Creation of a clandestine lab

Possession of synthetic cannabinoid

Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Possession of Xanax

Possession of firearm by convicted felon

Aggravated battery

Improper telephone communications

Hebert faces the following charges:

Possession of cocaine

Creation of a clandestine lab

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Traffic bench warrant

Poirrier is charged with:

Possession of heroin

Possession with intent to distribute pseudoephedrine

Creation of a clandestine lab

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Roddy is charged with possession of pseudoephedrine and creation of a clandestine lab.

Sappington was booked on the following charges:

Creation of a clandestine lab

Possession of synthetic cannabinoid

Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Possession of Xanax

All of the suspects were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and are awaiting bond.
