Metro council passes measure to curb piles of tires

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Businesses and residents who store tires on their property in East Baton Rouge without a fence will soon face the possibility of receiving a fine.

The EBR Metro Council passed the measure Wednesday that includes piles with five or more tires.

Several pictures were given to council members as an example of businesses who leave tires in the open.

Violators will face a $125 fine on first offense, and doubling thereafter.
