WASHINGTON, DC (WAFB) -

US Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, wrapped up a 21-hour marathon speech on the Senate floor just before noon.

He and other Tea Party Republicans are voicing their opposition to the Affordable Healthcare Act, which is set to go into effect October 1.

US Sen. David Vitter, R-LA, also stepped up to the podium as part of the faux-filibuster.

"I commend the senator from Texas for helping lead this fight, helping point out the dangers and the tragedies of Obamacare, particularly for working men and women and also for supporting the broader effort to make sure however America is treated, Washington should be treated exactly the same," Vitter said.
