ST. AMANT, LA (WAFB) - Students at St. Amant High School can now say they've seen first-hand the possible consequences of distracted driving.
Students and parents participated in a mock crash Wednesday morning. State and local agencies partnered with Louisiana State Police for the demonstration.
The educational event is an effort to reduce the number of crashes involving serious injuries and deaths.
Louisiana State Police and Our Lady of the Lake Hospital also offer a sudden impact program. It's an eight-hour course for high school students getting their driver's licenses.
