BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - As residents of south Louisiana, we understand all too well the devastation caused by flooding. Our hearts and prayers go out to the thousands of people impacted by the ferocious flooding in Colorado.
It prompted the largest aerial rescue operation since Hurricane Katrina, as hundreds were trapped in their homes. Just as others have helped us in the past, 11 Red Cross volunteers from south Louisiana headed to Colorado last week to assist in shelters and evacuation centers.
The Red Cross needs your help, too. If you want to make a donation or become a trained volunteer, visit www.redcross.org or call 1-800-733-2767. We know how hard it can be to completely start over. But, we also know firsthand that small acts of kindness from others can go a long way on the road to recovery.
