PONCHATOULA, LA (WAFB) - A Hammond man was arrested early Friday morning after he was caught burglarizing a car.

According to reports, Akeem Arsenio Hall Banks, 22, and an accomplice were burglarizing a car at a home on Dutch Lane when deputies arrived.  Banks was found standing in the corner of the garage.  His accomplice escaped on foot.

Investigators say Banks identified his accomplice as Aaron Watkins, 21.  A warrant is being issued for Watkins' arrest.

Banks has been charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling, vehicle burglary, two counts of possession of stolen property and criminal damage.

Banks was arrested in July for an ATM burglary in Pumpkin Center.  In that burglary, a stolen minivan was driven through the front glass doors of a convenience store before the ATM was burglarized.  Banks was charged with possession of stolen property and burglary of a business in that case.
