Crime alert issued after armed robbery near BRCC

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Community College Police Department issued a crime alert Friday morning after a Thursday night armed robbery near the campus.

It happened around just after 8 p.m. across the street from the campus on N. Acadian Thruway. BRCC Police say a suspect who is reported to have a handgun approached a student who was in his vehicle. The student was robbed.

According to the victim, the suspect is described as having facial hair with a medium complexion. He is between 150 and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap. He was last seen riding a bicycle heading towards the 3300 block of Huron Street.
