Elderly woman held at knife point during home invasion

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Police are searching for two men who crashed through the back door of an 84-year-old woman's home and held her at knife point.

It happened Wednesday night in the 2900 block of Mission Drive just after 7 p.m.

According to the victim's daughter, Sondra Wilkins, the two men crashed through the back door and shoved her to the ground.

Wilkins said one of the men pressed a knife to her mother's throat. She says her mother feared for her life as the other man rifled through her house.

"She was in the process of coming out of the restroom at the time that this all happened. And so it just blew us away and when she called us. She was hysterical; and for them to come in - I thank God that they didn't do anything to harm her ‘cause they had a knife she said it was about 6 inches long," said Wilkins.

The elderly woman was not injured, just shaken from the home invasion. The men took only her 31-inch flat screen TV.

The only description given of the two men is that they were young, black men. If you have any information on this home invasion, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP (7867).
