Family seeks assistance after losing home in series of fires

PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) - A family is now homeless after the rash of fires in the New Roads area and needs help as it tries to recover.

A fire at a vacant home on Clay Street was reported Tuesday just after 5 a.m. It then spread to a home with a family inside. The two adults and their three teenage children were able to escape unharmed.

However, they now need assistance. Their home and most of their belongings were lost to the fire.

Clothes, toiletries and other items are being collected to help the family. Below are their sizes:

Mom - Large Shirt, 14 Pants

Dad - XXL Shirt, 44x32 Pants

19-Year-Old Young Man - Large Shirt, 32x30 Pants

16-Year-Old Boy - Small Shirt, 29x30 Pants

14-Year-Old Boy - Small Shirt, 14 Pants

The items can be dropped off at:

211 West Main Street in New Roads

4626 Jamestown Avenue, Suite 3 in Baton Rouge
