THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - Thibodaux Police report that a man was arrested after he ran from police and tossed a bag of crack cocaine, then telling police he didn't have any drugs.
Police were called to a disturbance in the 900 block of St. Charles Street after someone mentioned getting a gun. Officers responded and spotted a man matching the description of the person with a gun.
According to police, the man, now identified as 23-year-old Chase Cleveland, ran from police and tossed a bag of crack cocaine valued at more than $500. When officers caught up to him, he stated that he did not have any drugs.
Police did not find a gun, but Cleveland was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and resisting an officer. He was taken to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center for booking.
