BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities said a former member of the Capital Area Transit System (CATS) is out of jail after he was arrested last week.
According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, Montrell McCaleb was booked on charges of theft and access device fraud.
He was released from custody Thursday, after posting a $6,500 bail.
McCaleb is accused of using $1,500 from CATS funds to pay for personal expenses.
CATS CEO Bob Mirabito released the following statement about this matter:
"I'm glad the investigation is concluded and the authorites pressed charges based on the information provided by CATS. It is now in the hands of the judicial system."
