Lawmen target of KSP investigation

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Kentucky State Police have launched an investigation surrounding members of law enforcement accused of inappropriate behavior with a 15-year-old girl.

In August, KSP contacted the Meade County Attorney's Office about the investigation.

"I have been notified by the state police and Brandenburg city police that they're currently three officers, two troopers and a city officer, on administrative leave due to the ongoing investigation by the state police," said Jessica Brown Roberts, the Meade County Attorney.

WAVE 3 News has confirmed that a fourth officer is also part of the investigation.

The chief deputy for Breckinridge County Sheriff's Office confirmed to WAVE 3 News a law enforcement official resigned on September 5. The chief deputy would not say whether it was in connection with the investigation.

The investigation is in connection to allegations about an inappropriate relationship with a teenage girl. The Office of the Kentucky Attorney General is in the process of finding a special prosecutor for the case.

"At some point in the future a grand jury will determine what charges, if any, are to be brought," said Roberts.

The agencies where the four men are or were employed declined any comment to WAVE 3 News.

At this time, no one has been charged. WAVE 3 News attempted to contact the accused lawmen, whose names we are not reporting at this time.
